Moving into a new home — even one the previous owner left immaculate — is the right moment for a deep clean. It sets the baseline, exposes anything the inspection missed, and means your first weeks of living there are not spent cleaning around boxes. Here is what we cover, and why timing matters.

Why move-in is the highest-leverage deep clean of the year

The home is empty. No furniture to work around. No clothes in wardrobes. No food in cupboards. Every surface is accessible. This is the cleanest, fastest, most thorough deep clean we ever do — and the one that sets the baseline for everything that follows.

It is also the moment to deal with anything the previous owner left behind — grime in places you would not normally inspect, dust on top of joinery, soap scum in shower corners, range hood filters that have not been cleaned in years.

When to book — the timing that matters

The window between settlement and move-in is small but real. Book the deep clean for the day after settlement OR the day before move-in. Either works. Both is better but rarely necessary.

• Day after settlement — empty home, no time pressure, best outcome
• Day before move-in — empty home, you have access, cleaning done just in time
• NOT during the move-in itself — boxes everywhere, slows everything down 2-3×
• NOT after you have moved in — every furniture piece is now an obstacle

How long it takes

For a 3-bedroom Wangaratta home, a proper move-in deep clean is 6-8 hours of cleaner time. Solo: a full day. Two cleaners: half-day each.

For 4+ bedroom homes or multi-level homes, expect 8-12 hours. Add 1-2 hours if the previous owner left visible grime — we will tell you upfront if we see it.
