Common Questions
NDIS Home Cleaning — FAQs
Can I get a cleaner through NDIS?
Yes — home cleaning is a fundable support under most NDIS plans when it’s part of helping you live independently at home. The specific line item depends on your plan; we’ll walk you through how to fund it.
What is the maximum cleaning rate for NDIS?
The NDIS Pricing Arrangements set an hourly cap for domestic cleaning supports (reviewed each financial year — check the current NDIS Price Guide for the exact figure). Green Koala bills within that cap and issues plan-manager-friendly invoices with the correct support codes.
What do NDIS cleaners charge per hour?
NDIS-funded domestic cleaning is billed within the NDIS Pricing Arrangements hourly cap. We always bill within it, never above.
Do I need to be NDIS-registered to use Green Koala?
We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you’re agency-managed, your plan needs to allow non-registered providers — most do. Either way, the invoice we issue lists the right NDIS support code so your plan manager can pay it directly.
How much is a 2-hour clean for an NDIS participant?
Whatever the NDIS hourly cap is at the time, multiplied by two. We bill within the cap, with no extras and no out-of-pocket cost for the participant. The detailed scope of work is agreed at your free walkthrough and ticked off as we go.
Will you actually move the furniture and clean properly?
Yes — that’s the whole point. Government-subsidised cleaners often can’t move furniture due to occupational health and safety rules, so they vacuum around the chair rather than under it. We move the chair. We wipe the skirtings. We get behind the TV. We do the job the way you’d want it done if you were doing it yourself.
How do I get this added to my plan?
If you’re already approved for assistance with household tasks or domestic cleaning, you can use Green Koala straight away. If not, the support coordinator or LAC you usually work with can help request it at your next plan review. We’re happy to provide a written quote you can submit with the request.
