Deep Clean Checklist — What’s Included Room by Room

A deep clean isn’t a longer regular clean. It’s a different job. This is the checklist Green Koala works through in Wangaratta homes — the stuff that doesn’t get touched on a fortnightly visit, but builds up quietly until the house stops feeling clean even after it’s been cleaned.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the room that holds the most hidden build-up. Grease settles on the range hood filter, on top of cupboards, around the stovetop edges, and on the wall behind the kettle. None of it shows from standing height. All of it shows once it’s gone.

  • Inside the oven — racks, glass, walls, seal
  • Range hood — filter soaked and degreased, hood interior wiped
  • Stovetop, including the seam where the cooktop meets the bench
  • Splashback, including grout lines
  • Top of cupboards, top of fridge
  • Inside the microwave
  • Sink, taps, and the edge of the taps with a small brush
  • Skirting boards and door frames

Bathrooms

Bathrooms are the room a deep clean shows in most. Soap scum, limescale and mould build slowly, and once they’re set in they don’t come off with a regular wipe. Wangaratta water isn’t kind to glass — limescale on shower screens is the most common job we deal with.

  • Shower glass descaled to clear
  • Grout scrubbed in the shower recess and floor
  • Silicone seals checked for mould, treated where possible
  • Toilet — base, behind, hinges, seat bolts
  • Vanity, mirror, light fittings, exhaust fan cover
  • Skirting boards and door tops

Bedrooms and living areas

Living areas collect dust in places people stop looking. Skirting boards, ceiling fan blades, the tops of picture frames, door tops, light switches, power point covers. None of these are urgent. All of them add up to the difference between a house that’s been cleaned and a house that’s been reset.

  • Skirting boards full length
  • Door tops and door frames
  • Light switches and power points
  • Ceiling fan blades
  • Window tracks vacuumed and wiped
  • Sliding door rails
  • Cobwebs in corners and around cornices
  • Carpets vacuumed including under furniture where reachable

Laundry and entryway

The laundry usually gets the same treatment as a small bathroom — sink, taps, skirtings, behind the door, dust off the dryer lint trap housing. Entryways get the door frame, the threshold and the cobwebs above the doorway dealt with.

Honest pricing

Local hourly rates in Wangaratta sit around $45-$60 per hour. Green Koala quotes deep cleans as a fixed price after a walkthrough — so you know the number before we start, not after. Most family homes land between $450 and $700.
